As a member of our Avionics & Software team in Munich, Germany you will own the spacecraft-level avionics & software domain: from architecture and make/buy choices, through proposal support and supplier management, to implementation leadership (flight software, mode/state machines, data handling, RF/TT&C).

You will work closely with our Systems Architects, as well as other domains to shape the future spacecraft.

Your role will include:
  • Define platform avionics architecture: OBC, data handling buses (SpaceWire/CAN/100BASE‑T1), time sync (PPS/PTP/1588), mass memory, I/O, power interfaces, RTU strategy
  • Own RF/TT&C chain high-level definition (transceiver/TTC units, antennas, link budgets, waveform/SDR choices, ground compatibility)
  • Contribute to make/buy decisions on core platform level for OBC, SDR/TT&C, mass memory, DAQ/RTUs, including supplier trade studies, life-cycle & non-recurring impacts, and obsolescence risk
  • Set flight software platform direction
  • Define and implement mode/state machine architectures, from fluidic systems to orbital vehicles level
  • Define interfaces with GNC (data products, timing/latency budgets, execution models) and RPOD logic
  • Lead avionics/software sections in proposals: requirements, architecture diagrams, ICDs, work packages, effort & risk, schedule, partner scopes
  • Contribute to MBSE models and ways of working
  • Define model philosophies for spacecraft platforms
  • Support integration and verification activities on subsystem and system level
  • Integration & Production support
  • Support with other relevant ad-hoc activities.
Your profile
