Intern System Mechanical Design

München
Vollzeit
Praktikum/Werkstudium

Deine Mission

As an intern within our Systems Engineering team in Munich, Germany you will work closely with our mechanical designers and systems architects to help shape the future of space mobility and orbital refueling infrastructure. You will contribute to system & subsystem level development activities while supporting mechanical design, analysis, integration and verification efforts.

 Your role will include:

  • Shape and implement our orbital refueling systems & subsystems, from pre-development phases to detailed definition and qualication.
  • Perform mechanical analyses in 3DX / Abaqus / Simulia.
  • Implement the CAD models in CATIA / 3DX.
  • Carry out trade studies on components, weighing mass, stiffness, manufacturing and cost.
  • Help derive and track mechanical requirements.
  • Interface with other disciplines and share a systems vision.
  • Support integration and verification activities on subsystem level.
  • Support with other relevant ad-hoc activities.

Dein Profil

  • Enrolled in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related degree program.
  • Solid grasp of mechanics, materials and structural design, plus an understanding of environments such as loads, vibration, high pressure or cryogenic temperatures
  • Proficiency in design & analysis tools
  • Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Passion for creating a new spaceflight paradigm: space logistics and orbital refueling
      Nice to have:
  • Experience from a student rocketry, CubeSat, or similar team
  • Basics of thermal engineering or analysis
  • First exposure to systems or requirements engineering, or to ECSS standards.

Wir bieten

  • Internship can be mandatory or voluntary
  • Above average remuneration
  • Guided but self-determined problem solving to realize your ideas
  • Deep dive into the domain of commercial spaceflight and mobility
  • Opportunity for an adjacent employment as working student or for thesis
  • Flexible entry date, the sooner the better with flexible working hours

About us

We are deltaVision GmbH – a young, ambitious high-tech company based in Munich, driving the future of in-space mobility and infrastructure.

Since our founding in 2022, we have been developing, manufacturing, and qualifying advanced fluid control systems for the aerospace industry and H₂ aviation. Our expertise spans cryogenic and high-pressure propulsion systems as well as next-generation orbital refueling technologies, including couplers and fully integrated refueling systems designed for the harsh environment of space.

With our deep knowledge of fluid control for space systems, we are shaping the space economy towards refuelable and reusable spacecraft. We enable longer mission lifetimes, greater operational flexibility, and entirely new architectures for sustainable space operations.

What sets us apart?
  • Innovative products enabling next-generation space infrastructure
  • Exceptional cost efficiency through optimized design and manufacturing
  • Rapid development and delivery cycles beyond traditional industry standards

We are rethinking spaceflight — enabling a future where spacecraft are not disposable, but reusable, refuelable, and built to operate sustainably in orbit.
